Re: Begin planning your pilgrimage NOW...
Sun, February 6, 2005 - 11:47 PMI finalized my Cochella plans today.
For me, this is going to be an amazing experience, because I never got to see them live (I'm 19). Hearing them on stage will be a transcendant experience (as I'm sure it will be for everyone!).

Re: Begin planning your pilgrimage NOW...
Fri, February 11, 2005 - 11:26 AMWord is Coachella won't be a one-off, either (though Robin was saying so at first). They are tipped t o play the T in the Park festival in Scotland. Plus, Liz is scheduled to perform with Massive Attack on February 19th for a concert benefiting victims of the Asian trunami, and is working on something with composer Yann Tiersen (who composed the soundtrack for "Amelie"). Even if they don't re-form long term, it's nice to see Liz coming out of the woodwork (last thing I heard of her was the Ovo project with Peter Gabriel). -

Re: Begin planning your pilgrimage NOW...
Mon, February 14, 2005 - 9:42 AMmaybe it's wishful thinking,
but I have a feeling the Coachella thing may just be the beginning of a west coast tour. The thing that sucks about Coachella is you go to see your favorite band play for 15 minutes, and then see a bunch of bands you dont' really like untill another one plays for 15 more minutes.
I'm going to hold my breath till they make it to SF! -

Sat, February 12, 2005 - 9:52 AMI wish I could go. I really do... but that's too far away from Mississippi for a broke college student to make.
I think I'll pout all year over this one.

Re: Begin planning your pilgrimage NOW...
Wed, March 2, 2005 - 3:43 PMIt would be cheaper to see them play in England then in California (im in Ohio) Based on the price of airfare. I am just hoping that they get back together. If this is my only chance? If they never played live again, no biggie, I spent the last 5 years getting over that fact. -

>> No one has said "never," but it's important to clarify that the band have only agreed to do this one performance and have not discussed the possibility of collaborating beyond that. The band met last week, in person, for the first time in eight years, so please understand there's no "big agenda" happening just yet. One step at a time, right? <<
Good lord, has it really been eight years? That makes me feel old... (I was fortunate to see them live in New York in 1996... it didn't feel THAT long ago!)
Could someone pls tell me why they haven't met in person for eight years? Was there some kind of massive Pixies / Pink Floyd / Spinal Tap -esque falling out? Sorry, I'm not up on my CT history...
