Does anyone like this band?

It had a member of The Twins in them.

I am surprised I never heard of them.

Oh yeah, oh yeah... Lowlife were TERRIFIC, especially in their early days. Super hard to find their records... on CD, their last three were available, plus a compilation of some of their earlier songs. But to my knowledge, their crowning achievement, DIMINUENDO, can only be found on vinyl, and that's if you search really hard. They also made gorgeous album covers.

Amazon.com and amazon.co.uk don't even list their records / cds. I think sometimes they occasionally pop up on ebay, though.

Wil Heggie was an amazing bassist, not only on GARLANDS, but on all these Lowlife records. His instrument usually carries the entire song-- he often overdubs various bass melodies on one song.

As far as I know, they didn't make another record after the sort of disappointing GUSH from the early 90s.

It took me quite awhile, but a few years ago I managed to track down almost all the Lowlife in a combination of CD and vinyl. I even got lucky and found the Dead Neighbours album (Lowlife formed out of them).

Anyhow, Swirl, It Swings is one of my all time favorite disks, with the song "Ramafied" being absolutely stunning.

Pleanty of info and an active discussion forum at: www.permanentsleep.com/. I believe some of the band members occasionally post.

        Cheers,

        Ken

You said you were able to get all the Lowlife albums this way, but I can't even get it to find anything! Is there some other action I have to take?

                yah,thanks anyways,
the site seems to have no tech support contact info.
WOULD you be willing to make some CD copies for me if I paid you for your expenses? Even just a couple of albums would be great.
                ???
